American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
AICPA: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, an association of CPAs licensed to audit and report on accounting transactions of a business. The AICPA acts as a standard body for CPAs, setting forth standards and expectations for its members. The AICPA also approve CPAs that have the knowledge and experience to become auditors of Information Technology systems that are preocessing private and nonpublic personal data. Those approved are referred to a “Certified Information Technology Professionals” or CITPs.
